About Queer Care:
We are a group of queer radical herbalists and healers organizing intentionally as a multi-racial collective with diverse class, religious, and ability backgrounds. We are committed to healing justice, radical mental health, and class accessibility.
We aim to create and support community for queer herbal practitioners/healers and folks seeking herbal healing, via educational events, skillshares, workshops, and clinics that center herbalists of color and resist cultural appropriation.
Because of the ways in which capitalism and government regulation control and commodify sacred and community-based herbal traditions, we seek to contribute to an alternative model of access to herbal medicine.
Join us at one of our seasonal clinics, workshops or vending events in Oakland or Los Angeles!
Meet the organizing collective:
Lizanne is a queer Puerto Rican femme herbalist, medicine-maker, gardener, cook, and community organizer. She holds a private practice in energetic herbalism, sells a handmade line of herbal potions under the name Eye of Crow Herbs, and works as an herbal pharmacy technician in Oakland. She believes deeply that connecting with herbal medicine brings us into closer, healthier relationship with our own selves, our bodies, with the natural universe, and with our communities.
Stephanie Syd Yang Syd is a queer, mixed race energy healer based out of Los Angeles. The medicine she offers the world is deeply rooted in her relationship to the earth, the 4 elements and the magic we co-create with them. She supports individuals and small groups through Blue Jaguar Healing Arts, and offers up magical and earth-based remedies (including her Bird Essences) through Three Legged Crow.
